Tim Bowie is the owner and lead trainer of Peak Performance Athletics. As a young boy growing up in southern Maryland, he discovered his passion for sports. He played baseball, basketball, football, and wrestling. In high school, and later at the College of Southern Maryland, Tim played basketball. He went on to be the college’s men’s basketball assistant coach. After earning his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Maryland, Tim transitioned to coaching basketball at the high school level where he taught U.S. history classes.
In southern Maryland, Tim was a part-time basketball skill development trainer, working with DMV Elite and holding his own clinics throughout the area. He realized his passion was training athletes, so after moving to Delaware in 2014 he set his sights on opening Peak Performance Athletics. The facility opened in March 2015. While the focus of the company has changed from basketball skill development to focusing primarily on sports performance training for all athletes, young and old, Tim found his true passion – helping athletes be their best.
Today Tim works with more than 100 athletes each month to help them on their individualized journeys toward becoming the best athletes they can be, and for our older athletes, helping them get the strength, agility and speed they once had.
Tim wants everyone at Peak Performance Athletics to feel as if they are an extension of his family. He celebrates his athletes’ successes and offers advice when they need it. The Peak family is tightly-knit, and that’s how Tim likes it.
At home, Tim is known best as “Daddy” to his three children, Carter, Nolan “Scooter” and Delaney. He and his wife, Amanda, have been married for 11 years. Their family has loved their transition to Delaware and enjoys all the activities that come with living here – kayaking, beach-going, exploring breweries, attending concerts, and going to our athletes’ games.
Tim welcomes you to join the Peak Performance Athletics family today.
